I rescued Emmett about 2 years ago. We had worked out most of his anxiety issues since then, but his behavior when I came home from work was still uncommonly neurotic. I decided it was time for a dog walker and had heard good things through the doggie community grapevine about Seuss in the past. Now, when I come home, Emmett is calm. There was an immediate drop in his anxiety upon my arrival home and he’s no longer foaming at the mouth. Seuss takes great care to be sure Emmett’s extra energy has a proper outlet and leaves me notes every day to let me know how he did. And, I was lucky enough to be home once to witness my dog’s excitement when he heard his new friend’s footsteps. Seuss is amazing. I cannot say enough good things about him. I feel very lucky to have found him and I would highly recommend him to anyone! I have absolutely enjoyed having Seuss take care of Emmett, and will definitely continue to use his services.

Thanks for everything, Seuss! You have been reliable and trustworthy - and we appreciate all the walks you have provided for Bailey. It’s hard to leave Bailey for a long weekend, but we know he’s in good hands when he stays with you. You’ve helped him with training and have greatly improved his behavior on walks. It’s nice to have you reinforce and strengthen what we try to work on with him at home. We also appreciate the daily e-mails, letting us know how Bailey did and what we need to look out for. It seems like you two always have a great time - romping in the grass or frolicking at the park. You have given us useful suggestions about training and equipment, and have always acted in a professional manner. You have never canceled an appointment and, in fact, have often helped us by providing extra walks on short notice. Thanks for all your work - for Bailey and all the other dogs who get to be walked by you!

When I first called The Dog Dude I had a problem dog on my hands. Bogart was well mannered around most people but simply couldn’t be trusted around any dogs. He would immediately go into attack mode; lunging, snapping and generally causing a real ruckus. I started with one of Seuss’ “Alpha Dog Training Sessions” during which he went over many small changes I needed to make in my daily interactions with Bogey and I also had Seuss giving Bogart his mid-day walks. In an amazingly short time I was able to see a calming occur with my dog and on my own walks with him I began to see his rough edges smoothing over. When Bogart sees other dogs now he still gets a bit excited but not in the aggressive way he used to. I can now simply tell him to “leave it” and calmly continue along our way. With Seuss’ help Bogart has even formed some doggie friendships and is much more calm in the house as well. Simply put I have a much better dog today than I ever could have hoped for. I can’t recommend Seuss enough… he really is The Dog Dude!

Our dog, Monkey, can often be found waiting eagerly for Seuss to arrive each day. Working full time, we wanted to make sure that our dog received the exercise necessary for her health and Seuss makes sure that she is dog-tired at the end of their time together. Seuss shows genuine care and pleasure around the dogs he walks and handles his affairs very professionally. We have been very happy with the great service he provides and we know Monkey is happy by how crazily she runs around the apartment when he arrives. We would recommend Seuss to anyone who wants someone to love and take care of their dog exactly as they would themselves.

I always knew my dog Zoe had the capability to learn and be better behaved, but for years I struggled with helping her become better a dog. I simply did not take the necessary approach to fix her bad habits which were mostly apparent outside of my apartment.

Zoe had a severe case of leash aggression and would lunge, jump, and totally freak out when she met new dogs. I could tell that she was simply overwhelmed. She was not being vicious, it was more of a ‘I am so excited to meet you, I want to play, and I have no idea how to handle myself!’ The problem was that people are intimidated by Rottweilers and if we met a dog that responded to her aggressive actions, we had a dog fight on our hands.

When I moved into the city I immediately realized I had to fix Zoe’s aggression and improve her social skills. I knew this was all possible but at the same time would be difficult with an intensive work schedule. Not only would I have to dedicate my spare time on resolving her issues but would probably need to seek assistance.

Recommended by another dog walker that was truthful in her inability to handle and walk Zoe, Seuss AKA The Dog Dude, came to Zoe’s rescue. The Dog Dude demonstrated instant confidence with handling Zoe and correcting her behavioral weaknesses. After a few short weeks, Zoe’s leash aggression towards other dogs, bikers, people, etc had minimized tremendously.

I was simply amazed in such a short period of time on what a positive impact The Dog Dude had on Zoe. Not only has he improved her all around behavior but it has been very comforting knowing Zoe is in great hands when I am at work. Now I can take Zoe to the dog park or on daily dog walks and have the confidence that she will be friendly rather than aggressive. Overall, this has been a great investment for both Zoe and myself and I recommend Seuss to anyone in Philadelphia seeking help with their dog.

I found Red about a year and a half ago in the park outside of my building. He was a scary looking malnourished pit bull that desperately needed some love. After having him for awhile I realized he needed some activity during the day while I was gone. I was drawn to Seuss’ website due to the fact that he stated that “problem dogs are no problem”. Red had shown aggression towards some men in my building so I was very nervous about having anyone walk Red while I was not at home, especially a man. When I contacted Seuss I warned him about Red’s aggression and he was very understanding. The first time they met Red was not very welcoming to Seuss and would not even let Seuss come near him. After working with him for awhile, Red started becoming more comfortable and within a few meetings, Red was greeting Seuss at the door. Seuss has been visiting Red for months now and I can tell in Red’s demeanor when Seuss has visited. Red is so much happier when I come home and so much more energized, but in a good way. Before Seuss, Red would sleep all the time and always be so tired. Seuss’ visits have turned Red into a happier and healthier dog.

When I rescued Moochie, a 4 month Boston Terrier, I had no idea what I was in for. My family always had dogs, but Mooch seemed to have so many behavior issues that I had never dealt with before. This innocent looking dog would snarl and lunge at other dogs when I walked him and I was never sure how he would react when guests were visiting. I hated putting him in a crate while I was at work but, if I didn’t, he would destroy everything in my home! I would rush home everyday so that I could try to wear him out but his energy and mischief seemed to be endless! As much as I loved the little guy, I was losing my sanity! I heard about The Dog Dude from a friend of a friend (Note: see Hal & Zoe’s testimonial above) and went to meet him before entrusting him with Mooch for a weekend. He said that he had 3 dogs and I got uneasy but Seuss assured me that Mooch would be fine. I felt like I was witnessing a miracle as I watched Seuss transform my dog from an aggressive ‘lil maniac to a calm and submissive playmate with the other dogs. Seuss now walks Moochie every day, takes him to the dog park, and helps with his behavior issues. I constantly go to Seuss for advice and tips and he is so helpful and patient. Since Seuss has come into our lives, Moochie now resides out of his cage while we aren’t home and is able to walk by strangers and other dogs without going nuts! Mooch’s social skills have completely turned around and I feel like I have a new dog! I am so grateful to Seuss for helping our little family and would gladly recommend him to anyone. He is amazing, incredible and the one & only ‘dog dude’!

We have nothing but glowing reports to offer about Seuss. If you are looking for someone to not only walk your dog, but to get to know them, work with their weaknesses, honor their strengths, and love them as a surrogate owner of sorts, he is your guy.

Seuss took on the care of our two mutts and not only offered them daily exercise and friendship, but also helped train them into overcoming their insecurities and tendency to snap around other animals. He took our sweet-but-insane little girl pit mix and turned her into a calm, confident friend to all beasts. In situations where she had once been quick to nip or bark, she now pants and smiles and takes life as it comes. A small miracle in the eyes of those who knew her old self!

He would never market himself so overtly, because of his humble and soft spoken nature, but Seuss truly is a dog whisperer. He understands dogs in a way that few people do and because of that he truly respects them and comes to understand them on their own terms. When you hire Seuss, he works for you but he really SERVES your dog. And that is what makes his approach to this business truly unique.

Seuss is diligent, committed, easy going, and reliable. He shows up when he says he will — come rain, shine, snow, or sleet. Your dog will fall in love with him and come to trust him as they do you. Hire this guy. You won’t regret it. In fact, you’ll wish (as will your dog) that you’d known about him sooner!
